Karen Espersen

  • President of Universal Ostrich Farms Inc. and ONU Body Care Inc. Vice President of Omega Ostrich Inc.

  • 28 years experience in all aspects of the ostrich industry.

  • Managed quarantine facilities in Alberta Canada.

  • Worked closely with Vets to learn medicines, treatments, operating procedures and protocols for Ostrich.

  • Understands adult Ostrich physiology and psychology allowing her to work amongst large groups of adult Ostrich.

  • Well educated in all phases of Ostrich animal husbandry (egg production, incubation, hatching, chick rearing, yearlings and adults.

  • Director of the Alberta and Canadian Ostrich Association.

  • Worked closely with University of British Columbia, in Ostrich and Ostrich Oil related studies.

Dave Bilinski

  • President of Omega Ostrich Inc. Vice President of Universal Ostrich Farms Inc. and ONU Body Care Inc.

  • Owned and operated a 750 head cow operation prior to getting involved with Ostrich.

  • 1993 started Rocky Mountain Ostrich with doctor Bob Church and built it into the largest Ostrich farm in Canada.

  • Selected breeding stock in Africa and built quarantines in Zimbabwe, Namibia and England to import the Ostrich into Canada.

  • In 1995 20% of all breeder sales in Canada were from the RMO genetic selection program.

  • Initiated a DNA fingerprinting program for Ostrich which is a planned feature for Universal Ostrich Farms Inc.

  • Established Record of Performance program to measure feed conversion ratios.

  • Committed to the Ostrich business, working "hands-on" in all phases of the Ostrich Industry.
